The Kula Foundation is proud to announce the early development of our next international initiative: a Community Kitchen Project in rural Kenya.
Why a Community Kitchen?
In many rural Kenyan communities, access to safe cooking environments, food education, and sustainable agriculture remains limited. This contributes to:
- Food insecurity and poor nutrition
- A lack of knowledge around food safety and health
- Missed opportunities for income generation
- Environmental challenges from poor waste management
Our response? A community kitchen that does more than feed — it empowers.
Where We Are Now
🧭 Phase: Research & Co-Design
We are currently:
- Mapping the community’s needs
- Working with local leaders and educators
- Sourcing materials and testing sustainable solutions
- Exploring layout and construction strategies with local input
📸 Pilot Visits Underway – Images and updates will be shared as we progress.
🌍 Target Launch – 2027
We believe food is more than sustenance — it’s a pathway to self-reliance, dignity, and transformation.
