UK Construction Week at London Excel

Nish Tailor had the privilege of visiting UK Construction Week at the London Excel, where he had the opportunity to speak and share the impactful work of The Kula Foundation.

This event provided a platform for Nish to explore and be inspired by the innovative work being done in the construction sector here in the UK, and to consider how these advancements could support our local programmes and international development efforts.

During the event, two areas of interest particularly stood out. The first was the use of plastic and construction waste to create products such as bricks and other forms of landscaping and building materials. This innovative approach to recycling and sustainability was reminiscent of similar methods Nish observed during his last trip to Kenya, where basic levels of such innovation were already being implemented. The potential to utilise these methods in our projects could significantly enhance our sustainability efforts and provide new opportunities for community development.

The second area of interest was the use of AI in project knowledge management, specifically through building and material passports. This technology has the potential to inspire other organisations by creating project passports that use AI to showcase and verify our impact. By adopting such innovative approaches, we can enhance the transparency and effectiveness of our projects, ensuring that our efforts are both impactful and verifiable.

Nish’s visit to UK Construction Week was not only an opportunity to share the work of The Kula Foundation but also to gain valuable insights and inspiration that can be applied to our ongoing and future projects. We look forward to exploring these innovative ideas further and integrating them into our work to create lasting positive change.

Stay tuned for more updates on how we plan to implement these exciting innovations in our projects both locally and internationally. Your support and engagement are crucial to our success, and we invite you to join us in making a difference.
